Sandra Bernklau is the appointed Representative for UNFPA in Cambodia. Sandra joins us from the Fiji Multi-country office for the Pacific where she was the Representative for UN Women covering 14 Pacific Island countries. Sandra’s career has focused on developing, implementing and managing projects and programmes advancing gender equality including specific work on women’s human rights, ending violence against women and girls and gender and protection in humanitarian action as well as women’s political and economic empowerment.
Sandra has over 30 years of development management experience working in the field of gender and human rights with UN agencies, inter-governmental bodies and NGOs. Sandra has worked in Lesotho, India and Nepal, with the majority of her working career in the Pacific. Sandra has a BA in International Development Studies from the University of Toronto, Canada and a Masters of Science in International Development Education from South Bank University in London, England.
