Almost 500,000 workers employed in the garment industry who majority of them are young women of reproductive age migrating from rural provinces to Phnom Penh. Given this, there is a need to respond to and support their health needs, in particular their sexual and reproductive health and rights.
Migrant garment factory workers represent an important group for providing health information, education and services due to their perceived vulnerabilities. While a number of different projcts and programs to date have been implemented in Cambodia, data and information on the sexual and reproductive health and rights of female migrant factory workers is fragmented.
UNFPA recognizes that compiling a literature review of migrant garment factory workers' sexual and reproductive health behaviour and knowledge gives comprehensive overview for the development of strategic interventions in addressing their needs and access to relevant services.
