The report reviews age structure of migrant households, specific relationships between migrants and household members and left-behind population as a result of migration issues.
As migration is unavoidable phenomenon globally, the left-behind population is garnnering increased attention. Likewise, Cambodia is experiencing population change as a resulf of migration. There has been steady migration from rural areas to Phom Penh, to other rural and urban area areas and to countries abroad, especially Thailand. It estimated that 13% of Cambodia's population was urban in 1995 and the most recent estimate is up to 21% in 2015.
