The Adolescents and Youth Situation Analysis was carried out by the Havas Barefoot team with funding from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the World Food Programme (WFP), and the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS).
This study, initiated under UN agencies‘ joint funding and the National Youth Development Council (NYDC), was designed to provide an update on the situation of adolescents and youth in four priority areas: education, employment, health, and participation. The objectives were to present data on adolescents aged 10-19 and youth aged 15-24 to government and other decision-makers to identify unmet needs in the four focus areas. Specifically, it sought to provide an updated demographic profile, generate quantitative and qualitative data on the current situation, challenges, and issues and gather data on gaps and areas for future interventions.
